Kansas City Construction Market

A very recent article in our local Ingram's Magazine clearly speaks optimistically about the construction market in Kansas City....and in fact, we are experiencing a construction boom compared to past years...but is this inconsistent with the rest of the country? The CFMA Magazine would suggest the south, southwest and west coast regionsare continuing extraordinary growth. Having said that, a significant number of contractors locally indicate that they are giving away work, the margins are bad and it is tough to make money.

Has anyone figure out where the construction economy is in 2006?
