Contributions to unions
OK kids...another NEW RULE to quote a famous comedian.....now you have to disclose any payment of monies or other thing of value that you have given to a union, union officer or union employee in 2004...the disclosure is by way of something called an LM-10...yep, your holiday gift basket, dinner, sports outing, overnight retreat......even if the union person is just serving on a charitable board...a campaign contribution, a loan....man, time to go talk to the employee benefits expert on this one. And they tell me unions have to file by August 15, 2005 while employers file 90 days after year end (calendar if the company is calendar year.... fiscal year taxpayer, 90 days from the end of the fiscal year).
Somebody please help me with this one...do I have to hire a new accountant just to track this event for me and to make sure the proper forms are filed? Say it ain't so, Joe!
